Your gift supports Ocala's artists for good. Every MAX resident has a private studio as part of their membership, for a fraction of what a studio like it costs on the open market. That difference is what lets a talented artist build a career here. The naming-rights campaign makes that permanent: every naming gift goes into an endowment, with our existing studio fund, so it keeps working year after year.

A naming gift doesn't fund one exhibition or one season. It sustains the studios themselves, where artists build the careers that are making Ocala a city known for its art.

Figures assume the planned 4% yearly distribution and leave out investment growth. The yearly cost of keeping six studios affordable is MAX's estimate: about $1,000 per studio for each six-month term.

    What a named space does for Ocala

    Magnolia Art Xchange is Ocala's first art incubator: a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the historic Union Station, set up to enrich the city's cultural life. It gives resident artists studios and opens shared space to everyone else — for classes, workshops, exhibitions and events. Every naming gift goes into the studio endowment, so it keeps supporting MAX's artists long after the name's ten years are up.

    Careers built here

    Resident artists work in private studios with round-the-clock access, and with a commercial wash-down sink, the art library, a business center and the lounge. They get a lecture series and monthly seminars with industry professionals on marketing and technique, feedback from MAX's advisory board, and two exhibitions a year.

    Affiliate artists

    A launchpad for creative businesses

    MAX's affiliate artists join at three levels. The first enters juried group exhibitions three times a year. The second hosts free public events in MAX's flex space, up to four a month. The third teaches paid classes and workshops there and keeps every dollar of the revenue.

    A door that is open

    Anyone can walk in for the First Saturday gallery tours, and weekday visits are arranged by appointment. MAX takes part in Ocala's First Friday Art Walk, and its exhibitions put local artists in front of the people who live here.

    Programs for every age

    The Next Up is a free spoken-word open mic for performers 17 and under, led by a professional performing artist. GoFigure runs figure-drawing sessions open to every skill level.

    Where Ocala gathers

    From the Rockin' for the Arts benefit concert to community events proposed by the people who run them, MAX is a place to meet. The Platform along the tracks opens for every event, often with live music, and hosts festivals and large private events.
