In the historic Union Station, Ocala's first art incubator gives emerging and mid-career artists studios, places to show and help with the business of art, so they build their careers here. When Ocala's artists were asked what they needed, they didn't ask for applause. They asked for affordable studios, help with the business of art, places to show and sell, and doors that open after hours. MAX exists because of those answers. What starts in one studio spreads to the whole city.
How the model works
Follow one studio
Each resident shows new work every six months, from a studio that comes with their membership. On the open market, a studio like it would cost about $1,000 more a term. Supporters make up that $1,000. Here's what it can do.

Ways to support MAX
Each one measured in studio time: MAX supports each resident's studio by about $1,000 a six-month term.
Give today
Not every gift needs a placard. A donation of any size goes where MAX needs it most: studios that working artists can afford, exhibitions on the walls, and classes, workshops and events at Union Station that are open to everyone.

About MAX
Ocala's first art incubator
MAX is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit set up to enrich Ocala's cultural life. Resident artists build their careers in its studios; affiliate artists exhibit, host events and teach there; and the public comes in for gallery tours, the First Friday Art Walk, figure drawing, a youth spoken-word open mic, and events on the Platform along the tracks.
Every gift, sponsorship and membership goes to work in MAX's studios, galleries and public programs.
